Tarot Story

The Fool is close to achieving goals that he has set for himself, using the tools that the Magician had revealed to him. However, the Fool has his own share of enemies too; enemies who will stand in his path to success. These enemies include human enemies and bad circumstances. Confusion in his own mind also represent another kind of enemies that will stand in his way.The Fool feels that he is struggling just to remain where he is. He wonders about how he can get rid of these enemies in order to move ahead.

At this point of time, he chanced upon a charioteer who stands in his gold and silver chariot. The Fool seeks advice from the charioteer. The charioteer looks out at the ocean and use metaphors of sea tides to relate his ideas to the Fool. The charioteer advises that if the Fool tries to fight the sea tides, it will be a fruitless attempt which will only cause the Fool to tire out and drown. The only way to win will be to swim parallel to the shore.

The Fool feels enlightened and inspired. He thanks the warrior and is ready to make his move before the warrior gives him some final advice. He told the Fool that confidence is pertinent to success and victory is just the start of journey and not the end of it.

Tarot meaning

House of Tarot

As mentioned earlier, the Chariot can be a difficult tarot card to interpret. Superficially, this tarot card implies a war or a struggle. However, analyse the card more deeply and you will realise that this tarot card actually has more meanings.  This tarot card actually encourages one to maintain control over opposing emotions and bring them together. Give these emotions a single direction and remain transfixed on this direction. Confidence and motivation is also important and having these qualities will definitely ensure a higher chance of success.

I guess it suffice to conclude that this is a pretty positive card, much like the motivational effect of “motivation posters” you often see. It serves as a great reminder to remember that confidence and motivation are really important and useful qualities that can push you to a greater height.
