In the previous post, i have briefly touched on the Rider-Waite Tarot Deck, which is a good tarot deck for beginners to embark on their journey of reading tarot cards. For this post, we will be covering another tarot deck: the Universal Waite Tarot.

For me, nothing excites me more than a set of aesthetically designed tarot deck. Reading tarot cards always have a calming effect on me. And reading tarot cards which are beautifully designed makes enhances tne tarot reading experience. I would personally prefer the Universal Waite Tarot more than the Rider-Waite Tarot Deck because the colors presented by the Universal Waite Tarot is gentler and i feel that the Universal Waite Tarot goes more easy on the eyes.

The Universal Waite Tarot Deck is based on original line drawings for the Rider-Waite Tarot Deck by Pamela Colman Smith and Mary Hanson-Roberts, who created the Hanson-Roberts Tarot was commissioned to produce a more subtle and attractive rendition of the Rider-Waite Tarot Deck.

Many individuals who read tarot cards love using the Rider-Waite Tarot Deck because of the intricate details and designs on the card but had  often feel that the colors on the Rider-Waite Tarot Deck may be too harsh. I feel the same way too. Hence, i prefer the Universal Waite Tarot Deck, which gives me a “pastel” feeling. What do you think of the color scheme as compared to the Rider-Waite Tarot Deck? I feel that the expressions of the characters on the tarot cards are depicted more accurately and the characters on the tarot cards feel more “humane”. 

The tarot symbols on the Universal Waite Tarot Deck are even better seen and understood. The rich colors also bring out subtle nuances very well and for me, the improved color schemes actually hellp me relate to the tarot deck and reading tarot cards have become easier and more enjoyable.

For tarot newbies, this tarot deck is even more helpful as the more details your tarot deck presents, the better the relation to the tarot deck. For me, i feel more comfortable using this deck for reading tarot cards. My tarot readings also improve with usage of the Universal WaiteTarot. I guess a major factor is because of the feelings and affinity i feel towards this tarot deck.
